Reverse Osmosis Filter Changes

The Water Treatment Specialist Group services most all brands of reverse osmosis drinking water systems. Some of the larger companies charge as much as $220 for a visit to your home and to change the three filters on your reverse osmosis system. The membrane is an additional charge every two to four years costing you close to $200, not including the service call.

If you own a quality reverse osmosis system like the Microline, Culligan, or Hague you do not want to neglect the filter changes as it will affect the performance of your system. You should change the Sediment, Carbon and Post Carbon filters every 1-1 ½ years.

Some reverse osmosis owners think the filters only need replacing when indicated by the monitor on the RO system. This is incorrect. The monitor measures the Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) in the water which tells you when to replace the reverse osmosis membrane. The membrane is the heart of the system and is replaced every two to four years, depending on the quality of the tap water and amount of water used. If you neglect your filter changes, you will be drinking contaminated water. You cannot always tell by taste if the water is contaminated and this is why you must go by time and not just taste. We keep a record of your filter change and contact you every year as a courtesy reminder.

We will save you from 30% to 40% of “big company” prices, providing you with the same brand name filters required for your system. The Water Treatment Specialist Group’s service call includes a comprehensive inspection and “tune-up” of your system, filter change, and a new membrane if necessary. Prices depend on brand of unit owned.
